Traditional Quality Seasoned Logs

Air-dried logs are far more eco-friendly than kiln-dried logs. Our timber isn't cut into logs in the forest or woodland, we transport the timber back to our dedicated timber yards in Hertfordshire for traditional seasoning.

Processing timber into logs is something we do on-demand only when a customer has placed their online order for a log delivery with us. By looking after our timber and taking the time to season our firewood for between 2-4 years we produce what we believe to be the best quality firewood available.

Traditionally air-dried seasoned logs

Seasoning logs using our traditional air-dried methods mean that moisture in the timber is slowly reduced naturally from the timber. The tree's bark continues to protect the wood right up until the time your online log order is placed.

Traditional firewood logs on demand

All our firewood logs are cut to order and delivered free* to your door within 7 days of order. If, like the DIY sheds, we processed the timber into logs and left the firewood exposed to the elements, the moisture would seep back into the wood and you'd be left with logs that wouldn't burn very well.

Seasoned naturally for at least 2-4 years

All trees contain sap and if we didn't season the timber, the moisture content of the wood would not be reduced naturally. Logs would not burn efficiently and effectively causing so much smoke that it would quickly coat your chimney with soot. Really large trees contain sap that is likely to stay in the wood for 20 years if left as trunks, so we cut this timber so the sap is exposed to air which accellerates the natural drying process. The more sustainable wood, the younger trees, the thinnings, are best left in lengths because these trees will naturally season within 2-4 years and the bark protects the wood, keeping it dry.
