Who is Phil Holt and how did he get into the log business?
An opportunity to grow traditionally
Phil established his business in 1976 at the age of 16. Dead elm disease was at its peak and he saw an opportunity to start selling a few logs in the village he grew-up in.
Very quickly it became clear that this was a product that everyone wanted and so his business began to flourish and grow. In logs, Phil had discovered a product that could be sold without the need for credit and that is still the case now.
A diverse farming background
Growing-up amongst a farming estate, Phil as a boy worked on the neighbouring dairy farm carrying out various duties - it was here that Phil discovered his passion for cattle. Farming and cattle was then integrated into the business alongside the firewood trade.
Farming, being a seasonal trade, tallied well with the firewood business both business are run successfully today with our experienced and reliable staff.

Online ordering is the fastest way to arrange a delivery of logs by us direct to your home. We're a traditional business and we're still able to take payment upon delivery.
